Limited palette

My first art effort in color in about ten years. All of the objects were white. The assignment was to paint with a limited palette (in my case, black, white, ultramarine, and magenta), and concentrate on values and reflected color while disregarding the real color of the objects. Oil, 12" x 16".

I recently started taking an oil painting class, something I haven't done in twenty years. It's pretty awkward right now, but I love it. This was my first effort, which took about an hour, and my teacher said nice things about it. There is tons to learn about color and so on, but I think I can do this.
