...and a leftover

This is a drawing from a few weeks ago that I totally forgot about. Charcoal on Strathmore paper, 18" x 24".

The end of life drawing

Last figure drawing class was today. I'll miss it. Next quarter, I'll be trying figure painting, which will be quite a challenge.

Two drawings from today, both in gouache on Canson paper. Priscilla, my teacher, tried to convince me to like the second one, but I don't know. It's definitely the weaker of the two.

Lotus Flower

Here's the final product. There's a slightly different picture in my knitting gallery.

Lotus Flower, finished

My newest knitted object, and my first ever Niebling design. "Lotus Flower" tablecloth, 43" diameter, size 20 DMC Cebelia thread, size 2 needles. Tomorrow when it's dry, I'll take pictures of it on my table.

See my knitting gallery for pictures.

Week 8: warmups

These are a series of figure drawing exercises, just to show you how I spend a three hour class. All of these are done before the final drawing. All exercises are conte crayon on newsprint.

Life Drawings

I've been taking Life Drawing for the last couple of months, and, well, I suck. It's been a decade since I last did it, and it shows. The last two weeks, finally, I have a series of gesture drawings I don't totally hate. Here's the first set. Model was Ryan. Black chalk on newsprint, 18" x 24".
