Finished!

It's done! I really like how this one turned out, and I think will submit it to the Student Art Show at the Torpedo Factory. Oil on canvas, 20" x 16. It needs a title and I'm taking suggestions. :) I also started a new large format painting in the same series, and will be posting my work so far later today.

in the final stretch

The cherry blossoms painting is almost done! I glazed the sky so it has a warmer glow, re-balanced the lights and shadows on the grass, and did more work on the figures. All that remains is to finesse the canopy so it looks less flat, and add just a few touches to the figures.
